The Denham Town Link-Up Project operated from May to December 2021 and provided life-changing interventions to 45 at-risk young individuals aged 15-29. These interventions included life skills training, mentorship, and paid internships. Additionally, ten Denham Town Community Development Centre members were trained in delivering the youth-friendly Passport to Success (PTS) curriculum, with two individuals gaining certification as PTS trainers and coaches. The PTS Curriculum covers various topics, such as gender-based violence, substance abuse, and workers’ rights.
Funded by Fight for Peace through a grant from the European Union and executed by The MultiCare Youth Foundation, the project aimed to empower youths and enhance their employability skills. Furthermore, 20 youths were matched with adult mentors from the community, and ten young men gained valuable work experience through internships at organisations such as the Denham Town Police Station, Garland Law Firm, WIHCON Properties, and CGM Gallagher. Host organisations noted improvements in interns’ work ethics, consistency, and punctuality, with exceptional performance in some cases.
