With Innovation, Flexibility, Partnerships and Cutting-Edge Tools.

The MultiCare Youth Foundation (MYF) is a renowned non-profit organisation that has positively impacted the lives of over 200,000 at-risk young Jamaicans across the island. Our main aim is to reduce the exposure and involvement of young people in crime and violence by providing social interventions such as life and vocational skills training, mentorship, paid internships, and cognitive behavioural therapy. History

The MultiCare Youth Foundation (MYF) is a result of the merger of three youth-serving organisations on March 31, 2017.

  • The MultiCare Foundation, established in 1993, helped improve children’s lives in 32 underserved schools through sports and the visual and performing arts.
  • Youth Upliftment Through Employment (YUTE) was launched by the PSOJ in 2010 and provided skills training and employment opportunities for vulnerable and unattached youth.
  • Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), Jamaica’s premier mentoring organisation, was founded in 1991 to mentor high school students at risk of dropping out.

Strategic Shift to Crime & Violence Prevention

In December 2019, The MYF made a strategic shift to focus primarily on youth between the ages of 16 – 29, as records show that they are the most at-risk of becoming involved in crime and violence. This vital, high priority initiative involves partnerships with government agencies such as the Ministries of National Security and Education, Youth and Information, and the Social Development Commission, plus our continuing partnership with Jamaica’s National Training & Service Agency, the HEART NSTA Trust. We also work with other civil society organisations and receive vital support from a wonderful, caring group of Jamaican and International
