In 2014, YUTE Microwork launched and provided at-risk Jamaican youth with employment opportunities via online platforms. The programme partnered with CrowdFlower and Mobile Works, and 90 participants received training in February 2014. The initiative was sponsored by Northeastern University’s Social Enterprise Institute and JMMB’s Joan Duncan Foundation and benefitted hundreds more individuals in 2015.
The initial workshop equipped participants with basic to intermediate computer skills, introduced them to Microwork platforms, guided them in selecting tasks, and enhanced their skills to maximise their earning potential.
