Project RESTORE, short for Rehabilitate & Empower Through Skills & Therapy is an 8-month initiative aims to provide interventions for children and youth in conflict and in contact with the law. The project targets forty-five (45) medium to high risk youth between the ages of 15 and 18 years.
Participants will benefit from two highly effective and globally recognised psycho-social and life skills interventions targeting positive behaviour change: “Transforming Our Perspective” Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TOP-CBT) and Passport to Success Life and Employability Skills Training.
Fifteen (15) of these participants will be an in-school cohort with the remaining 30 being those who are on remand and/or on correctional orders, including those who are still appearing before the courts within the Juvenile Correctional Centres in Jamaica.
The aim is to equip participants with the skills and tools to treat with emotional and other traumas, manage conflicts, increase exposure to prosocial competencies and positive youth development activities and reduce the risk of recidivism.
