In 2014, the YUTE programme achieved significant milestones through its flagship initiative, YUTE Build, during a pivotal growth phase. YUTE Build underwent enhancements to better address the evolving demands of the labour market. The programme offered comprehensive training, certification, work experience in General Construction, personal development, and counselling.

Additionally, it expanded its reach to over 30 vulnerable communities. YUTE Build II doubled its participant capacity to 100 individuals over an extended 18-month period. This phase included remedial literacy and numeracy support, concurrent on-the-job training, and discontinued basic Level 1 training due to industry oversupply.

YUTE Build was a collaborative effort involving YUTE, the National Housing Trust, HEART NTA, and JEEP, strategically positioned to prepare youth for upcoming infrastructural projects such as Jamaica’s Logistics Hub.
