The Multicare Youth Foundation, in keeping with its mission to change lives and make an impact, recently launched its YUTE Teach project at the Trench Town Polytechnic College. The new programme, which caters to 60 participants aged 18 to 29 years, seeks to strengthen underserved communities across Kingston and St. Andrew through education.

MYF Chairman, Joseph Matalon beamed with pride as he expressed delight to see the project finally roll out and benefit so many young people.

“We are launching the YUTE Teach Project, designed to address the urgent need for qualified, dedicated teachers at struggling early childhood centres in dozens of underserved communities across the Kingston Metropolitan Area,” he says. “To do this, we are offering a unique brand of training to 60 young Jamaicans living in these communities. Young men and women who love young children and are dedicated to educating them,” he adds.

During the programme, the participants will receive vocational skills training in Early Childhood Development by the HEART Trust NTA up to the Level 2 certification. They will also benefit from Life and Employability Skills Training, a year of mentoring, and three months of internship placements.
